OMG OMG
so funny. If you read my
tagboard (if you actually know where it is - haha i caught you! you don't know where it is!), you will find that Cleaven directed me to
his blog. So I went, and gee what a
surprise!
Wikipedia has articles on Singaporean schools? That I didn't know. But anyway, the one on Dunman High is particularly funny. Let me quote him:
...The socks worn by the students must cover the ankle. Only predominantly white shoes may be worn. Even then, the designs of the said shoes must comply with the discipine masters (currently: Mr Batman Kiw and Mr Robin Lu, 2005). Failure to do so would result in disciplinary measures being taken against the student...
-Mr Crappy Woot
Can I emphasize that this is
100% accurate, (besides the name) yet it is depicted in such a
HILARIOUS manner I cannot stand it. It's like trying to feed us simulacra which we know is simulacra, so we do not believe it. The irony of it all? It is real!
Excuse me, but I am currently still in a very "language arts" mood (
ignores my previous post of deviating from IP-ish stuffy). Today was the
BIG test. Let me emphasize,
BIG.
Wow, the blisters on my fingers only grew even
BIGGER (so many bigs in a paragraph) lah. (it first grew after the social studies test, which was EONS ago) So irritating. Then I was like so restless and couldn't sit still. What's worse was that I had
absolutely-zilch no idea how to do question 1d, and I was worrying. [hah! and you thought i would reveal the questions out! no, no!]
Which reminds me of a very mindless event yet I am blogging about it which means it is merely a mindless wandering. Excuse me while I mindlessly blog about it and you mindlessly read it =D
At the lockers, Ganesh made a very unnecessary conversation.
G: Hi Jiayi (Jia Yi - but no one cares anyway)
Me: Oh, hi
G: Have you had the Language arts test yet?
M: Yes...
G: No, I must maintain my integrity and I will not ask you the questions on the test. No, I will not (walks away)
M: *bewildered look
* --> trying to ignore what just happened
End of story! Fantastic wasn't it, but my main point is that it is mindless and thus this post is irrelevant.
Actually I find that a lot of people in the IP have a tendency to "suan" other people. In other words, they belittle them in a very sarcastic sort of way, which can be funny. In dunmanian culture, this can be known as, ahem, NIAO-ing.
Last time in SJAB there was the NIAO team, wah I actually wanted to join it as the first female member. Bah. How niao I was.
And now in IP, although no one uses that erm, term anymore, the concept still thrives. Wah, everywhere people are suanning each other, so horrible.
But don't worry, I am an independent modern girl with liberal values, and I will not allow your ironical-critical stance towards me to affect/influence me in any way =D Yes, I am independent!!!
And your mere existence is a disaster to this natural world. I sob for Mother Earth for having to bear with you so long. *
